All you need is zip software to extract the file... a server that can handle PHP... and some photos to add to it. :) No need for databases, and nothing complicated...
Please do read the instructions. You can also get help from the forum and leave comments.
You should, however, resize the photos prior to adding them to the gallery. I would suggest you use a size that will comfortably fit on the screen when viewed inside a webbrowser. (Thumbnails are, of course, automatically generated).
Many programs out there provide you with the functionality for batch photo resizing.
For Example Photoshop can be used for this... you can find this function under "File" -> "Scrpts" -> "Image Processing"
